Residence class visas

Resident visas allow you to work, study, and live in New Zealand indefinitely.  New Zealand has two main pathways for residence, the Skilled Migrant Category and the Green List Category. These categories aim to attract global talent to New Zealand and requirements include but are not limited to recognised qualifications, professional registration with NZ professional bodies, working in certain roles, and skilled work experience, among others. These can be complex, challenging, and time-consuming applications. At Andes Consulting we assess your background and current situation against the specific criteria, and assist hassle-free throughout your whole residence application, so you can make this beautiful country your home.

Work visas

The Accredited Employer Work Visa is the main work visa category in New Zealand. This category is based on an offer of full-time employment from a New Zealand employer that holds accreditation with Immigration New Zealand, and where the employer has demonstrated that they have been unable to find suitable New Zealand citizens or residents to fill the role.  We also offer advice and assistance for other work visa categories such as specific-purpose work visas, post-study work visas, and seasonal visas.  Work visas are a  great opportunity to come to New Zealand temporarily, fill genuine labor shortages, and showcase your abilities in a thriving labor market. In some cases, they can also be a pathway towards your Residence in New Zealand.

Employer applications

All employers in New Zealand who wish to support Work Visa applications for migrant workers must hold accreditation with Immigration New Zealand. The Accredited Employer Work Visa scheme aims to combat migrant exploitation in New Zealand, ensuring that only genuine, compliant, and financially viable organizations can employ migrant workers.  Employers must also be able to demonstrate that they have made genuine attempts to recruit New Zealand citizens and residents for their vacancies, and that they have been unable to find suitable local candidates.  At Andes Consulting we can guide your organization through this time-consuming process  and handle both Employer Accreditation and Job Check applications on your behalf, so you can focus on running your business.

Student visas

If you wish to study in New Zealand for more than three months you need to apply for a student visa. The New Zealand Government is focused on offering high-quality tertiary education for international students, and there is a wide range of qualifications and institutions to choose from. We work closely with education agents and we can help you choose the best option to study in New Zealand. Student visas are normally granted part-time work rights (up to 20 hours per week) which means that you can earn some money, gain local work experience, and improve your English.  Also, certain student visas are eligible for a post-study open work visa which allows you to stay in New Zealand after completing your studies, utilizing acquired skills and knowledge obtained through education in New Zealand.

Visitor visas

New Zealand is home to one of the most breathtaking and picturesque locations in the world. There is diverse and unspoiled scenery, remarkable Maori culture, and unique wildlife among many features. Few destinations in the word boast so many staggering natural wonders packed into such a small area. Citizens of non-visa waiver countries must first submit and be approved a visitor visa application if they wish to travel to New Zealand for holidays, or to visit family and friends. All visitors must demonstrate that they have genuine intentions to visit New Zealand, sufficient funds for maintenance during their stay, and evidence of outbound travel.  We also provide advice and assistance with a wide range of other visitor visa categories, including but not limited to parent and grandparent multiple entry visitor visas and guardian visitor visas.

Family - Based visas

Partners and dependent children of certain visa holders and New Zealand citizens/residents are eligible to apply for family-based work, student, and visitor visas, so they can all travel and spend time together in New Zealand. Family-based visa applications require to provide evidence of the relationship with the person who supports the family-based visa application, such as a parent, de facto partner or spouse.  Dependent children of temporary visa holders may also be eligible to come to New Zealand and attend school as domestic students for the same duration as their parents, without having to pay fees as international students. The criteria and the type of evidence of the relationship required vary depending on each type of application, and we are able to provide support and assistance throughout this intricate process.

Section 61 requests

Visa holders are not allowed to stay in New Zealand after their visa expires. They are under an obligation to leave New Zealand and are liable for deportation. A person who is unlawfully in New Zealand has no lawful ability to make an application for a further visa. Becoming unlawful in New Zealand can be stressful as you can’t legally work or study, you are at risk of becoming deported, and it may affect future eligibility for visas not only in New Zealand but in other countries in the world. We can guide and assist you to make a request under Section 61 of the Immigration Act, in order to reinstate your lawful immigration status in New Zealand and obtain a visa.
